The development of Hundred Dungeons is moving quickly in 2024. After a full revision pass on all the material and a quick week of layout work, the Player Alpha is almost ready for its pay-what-you-want product page.
In the meantime, if this is the first you’ve heard of this free low-magic 5E hack, take a look at my posts containing the core rules.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the look of this no-art version. It’s incorporating feedback from playtests and moving closer to a state where I’m comfortable putting it out for folks to download as a pdf and try.
Some of the key revisions include:
Load Slots are now “Equipment Slots” (or “slots” when we need to save space)
Shields no longer require a skill to use: they’re part of simple, martial, and heavy armor (despite not technically being armor)
A few exploits were revised for balance (ranger Horde subclass got some attention, as well as the berserker and paladin high level exploits)
A number of minor language and order of presentation changes
I revised the character sheet to match new rules and improve functionality. I’m posted it here and updating the previous post.
In general, I don’t plan to go back into the blog posts and revise everything that was adjusted. Instead, I’ll be directing interested players and GMs to the product page for the free Player Alpha. The character sheets links will be updated, and I’m including them here too.
